Founded in 1988, Habitat for Humanity of the St. Vrain Valley seeks to put God’s love into action by bringing people together to build homes, communities, and hope. Our vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live. St. Vrain Habitat partners with families earning 30-60% of the Area Median income in the St. Vrain and Estes Valleys. Habitat homeowners attend financial and home maintenance classes, and complete 250-500 hours of “sweat equity.” These homeowners pay an affordable mortgage, which, in turn, helps other future Habitat homeowners achieve the same dream of owning an affordable home.

St. Vrain Habitat is currently building 9 homes in Longmont. We are partnering with Veterans Village and leading construction on 26 tiny homes. Our service model is unique as we rely on volunteers (businesses, organizations, churches, and individuals) to help build these homes. No experience is necessary. Habitat provides all the tools and training you need to build. Volunteers have an opportunity to build alongside homeowners and other community members, people of all backgrounds and faiths, or no faith background. This is a one-of-a-kind volunteer experience where you can see tangible results of the work you do.

We invite you to join us on the build site Wednesday, Friday, and/or Saturday. Sign up for shifts as an individual or contact us about joining as a group. More information and shifts available on our website at www.stvrainhabitat.org/construction. You may also contact Doris Crespo, Volunteer Coordinator, at 303-682-2485 x106 or email dcrespo@stvrainhabitat.org.

Founded in 2016 by a group of Combat Veteransin Kansas City, Veterans Community Project aims to helpVeterans achieve self-sufficiency, and housing stability, regardless of discharge status.

Since 2020, VCP Longmont has served more than 280 Veterans across the Front Range and housed 40 through walk-in services, agency and street outreach. VCP provides one-on-one case management through evidence informed tools–connecting Veterans and their families to a network of more than 45 service partners, and building pathways to self-sufficiency and stable housing. Additionally, VCP distributes Emergency Assistance Funds for rent and utilities and other necessities.

VCP Village -Longmont is a crossover venture between Veterans Community Project, the City of Longmont, and HMS Development. Located on a 2-acre property, approximately 13 miles northeast of Boulder, the Village will feature 26 tiny houses and a 3,000-square foot Community Center. Each single residency home will be 240-square feet; the Village’s five family homes are 340-square feet and can sleep up to 7.

VCP Village provides everything a Veteran needs to live with dignity and safety; trauma-informed design with new furniture, appliances, housewares, bedding, and utilities, free of charge.Once desired goals are met, VCP assists each Veteran in securing a permanent housing solution and continues follow-up case management for a year. Each Veteran is allowed to take the entire contents of his or her tiny home as they transition to a new life.
