Founded in 1988, Habitat for Humanity of the St. Vrain Valley seeks to put God’s love into action by bringing people together to build homes, communities, and hope. Our vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live. St. Vrain Habitat partners with families earning 30-60% of the Area Median income in the St. Vrain and Estes Valleys. Habitat homeowners attend financial and home maintenance classes, and complete 250-500 hours of “sweat equity.” These homeowners pay an affordable mortgage, which, in turn, helps other future Habitat homeowners achieve the same dream of owning an affordable home.
St. Vrain Habitat is currently building 9 homes in Longmont. We are partnering with Veterans Village and leading construction on 26 tiny homes. Our service model is unique as we rely on volunteers (businesses, organizations, churches, and individuals) to help build these homes. No experience is necessary. Habitat provides all the tools and training you need to build. Volunteers have an opportunity to build alongside homeowners and other community members, people of all backgrounds and faiths, or no faith background. This is a one-of-a-kind volunteer experience where you can see tangible results of the work you do.
We invite you to join us on the build site Wednesday, Friday, and/or Saturday. Sign up for shifts as an individual or contact us about joining as a group. More information and shifts available on our website at www.stvrainhabitat.org/construction.
